Mobileme contact sync – english version

I think it’s useful to translate my blogpost about my solution for successful syncing of mobileme with the local adressbook on the Mac.

When syncing with MobileMe I had the following problem: 

Syncing between the Mac and MobileMe  simply didn’t work for contacts, between the iPhone and MobileMe it synced perfectly. The calendar also syncs flawlessly. 

I tried all the instructions from the various support forums, but nothing helped – as with many fellow sufferers. 

Solution (Prerequisite: Contacts at me.com are up-to-date!) 

Backup the Address Book on your Mac. 
Close the Address Book application on your Mac. 
Set to manual-syncing in MobileMe settings (System preferences). 
Rename the folder ~/Library/Application Support/AdressBook. 
Sync with mobileme. 
My AdressBook folder was automatically created and now it synchronizes my contacts with MobileMe! 
Set  syncing back to automatic.

Please ensure all your contacts are correct, then you can delete the renamed folder.

MobileMe – Synchronisierung der Kontakte

Bei der Synchronisierung meiner Kontakte mit MobileMe hatte ich immer folgendes Problem:

Die Synchronisation zwischen MobileMe und dem Mac wollte bei den Kontakten einfach nicht funktionieren, zwischen iPhone und MobileMe lief es tadellos. Der Kalender synchronisiert auch einwandfrei.

Ich probierte alle Hinweise aus den diversen Supportforen aus, nichts half – wie bei vielen Leidensgenossen.

Lösung (Voraussetzung: Kontakte auf me.com sind aktuell)

  1. Das Adressbuch auf dem Mac sichern (nur zur Vorsicht).
  2. Adressbuch-Applikation beenden.
  3. Die Synchronisation auf Manuell stellen (MobileMe-Einstellungen).
  4. Den Ordner ˜/Library/Application Support/AdressBook umbenennen.
  5. Synchronisation wieder auf automatisch stellen und starten.

Bei mir wurde dann dieser Ordner automatisch wieder angelegt und fortan funktionierte die Synchronisation der Kontakte mit MobileMe!

Wenn Du sichergestellt hast, daß die Kontakte nun alle in Ordnung sind, kannst Du noch den umbenannten Ordner löschen.
